What it is

Source: My own description of Meridian; the Fair Work Ombudsman, the NDIS, Services Australia and the ATO for the terms. Date: 15 and 16 October 2026. Scope: What Meridian does, how it is built and where it stands: built and delivered to the client. It does not claim the platform is live: its award rates and outside integrations are interface stubs, not the published rates or live connections.

Meridian is a SaaS platform for healthcare staffing and for care delivery under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It has provider, agency and hybrid modes on one data model. Built

Awards are legal documents that outline minimum pay rates and conditions. The Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) covers work that includes disability services and home care, and the Nurses Award covers nurses and midwives in the health industry.

What it does

  • Award interpretation. Engines that interpret the SCHADS Award and the Nurses Award, with placeholder rates.
  • Compliance-gated shift matching. Matching a worker to a shift passes through a compliance gate first. The scoring is explainable, and every exclusion comes with a stated reason.
  • Billing and NDIS claims. Rate-card billing, and generation of NDIS bulk claims, a provider’s requests to be paid for delivered supports, made in one upload.

Each is unit-tested against dollar amounts worked out by hand. Method

How it is built

Meridian is designed as software as a service, in one monorepo: TypeScript on Node.js 22 with Fastify and Prisma, a React and Vite front end, and Terraform for its AWS infrastructure. Built It has JWT authentication, tenant isolation that keeps each organisation’s data apart, role-based access control (RBAC) and append-only audit logs.

Where it stands

Meridian was built and delivered to the client. Shipped The award rates and the outside integrations are interface stubs, pending go-live. The integrations are PRODA (Services Australia’s online identity verification for providers), Single Touch Payroll (STP, employers’ payroll reporting to the Australian Taxation Office) and screening checks. No users or live deployment are claimed here.
